A piece of very sad news reaching us from Kentinkrono in the Ashanti Region has it that a JHS graduate identified as Priscilla has taken her own life following her inability to get a school.
Priscilla was said to have not gotten any school when the computerized school selection placement system by the Ghana Education service for JHS graduates was released because her results were not encouraging.
Priscilla’s mother said that the family never anticipated the ordeal because she never showed any sign of having issues or being bothered with the school placement.
“My daughter was hale and hearty and didn’t show any signs of depression even after checking her placement”, she said.
“Her name wasn’t on the placement list and the self placement option had no course or school of her choice, so my husband and I assured and promised her, we will do everything within my means to help her get a school and course of her choice”, the mother added.
The case is currently at the Tech Police as investigations have already commenced.
