The Chairperson of the Nigerian In Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, Abidemi Dabiri-Erewa has condemned the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Abidemi Rufai, who was arrested in the United States.
It was reported that the Acting U.S. Attorney Tessa M. Gorman announced Abidemi Rufai’s arrest, saying the 42-year-old popularly known as Sandy Tang made his initial appearance Saturday May 15, 2021 in New York and is scheduled for a detention hearing Wednesday.
Taking to Twitter to react to the news, Abike Dabiri-Erewa describes Abidemi’s arrest as a shame, stating however, that he doesn’t represent who Nigerians are. According to her, Nigerians are hardworking, committed and determined.
Adding that the aide who has been suspended by Governor Dapo Abiodun should pay for his crime, Abike Dabiri wrote, “Shame! Abidemi does not represent who we are as Nigerians. Hardworking, determined, committed. As we say @nidcom_gov, you commit the crime, you pay the price“, she tweeted.
