Restructuring: Senate Suspends Plenary, Starts Constitutional Review
The Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, the Senate has today Wednesday, May 19, suspended its weekly plenary so has to allow its members to be able to participate in the Zonal public hearings set to start across the country.

This was announced by the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, at plenary earlier today stating that the “public hearing” exercise is set to start and hold at 12 centers across the country on the 26th and 27th of May 2021.

Uproar Over Parliamentary Salaries in Nigeria, Again

Lawan urged Nigerians to participate fully in the exercise as the National Assembly has no pre-conceived agenda but would be opened to suggestions from Nigerians on how to move the country forward.

The Public hearing exercise is part of the grassroots efforts to reach out to the grassroots in a bid to address and get direct first-hand information about the numerous Financial issues, security challenges and ethno-tribal communal situation affecting the country put things on a knife-edge.
